The Seward House Museum conducted original historic research into the relationship of the Seward and Harriet Tubman families. The two families bonded in many ways including the Seward’s raising Harriet Tubman’s niece Margaret Stewart. The exhibition explores the questions around Margaret’s biological relationship to Harriet but more importantly focuses on the interwoven stories of the two families and how they converge.
