Peter Hyde Design Creates Exhibits and Experiences to Answer “What Does It Mean to be A Chicago Bear?” at Halas Hall

Project: Chicago Bears, Halas Hall Experience

The Chicago Bears headquarters at Halas Hall has opened its new and renovated areas for the team, staff, media and public. Peter Hyde, of Peter Hyde Design, and his team created an interpretive approach for the experiential exhibits and graphics that reinforce the history and prestige of the team as well as build on the sense of pride in being a Chicago Bear. The exhibits provide colorful and interactive displays to explore and reinforce team’s history for visitors, media, coaches, players and staff.

Hyde created a design that provides cohesion throughout the building and underscores the organization’s 90 plus year history, integrity and dedication to their fans and the city of Chicago. The design team added experiential enhancements in the Lobby and the new public event space as well as conference rooms, the press conference room, dining hall, weight room, hallways and entrance to the media room.

“We worked collaboratively with the Chicago Bears executive team and stakeholders to develop the key messages and content for the building. An interpretive strategy was created in order to weave the existing facility and new addition together. We wanted it to be a seamless experience for visitors, media, coaches, players and staff,” Hyde said.

The design incorporates four themes throughout all the venues: Greatness, Passion, Tradition and Gameday. The themes are introduced immediately at the entrance of the event center, which is a public space, and leads visitors through colorful displays that answer the question “What does it mean to be a Chicago Bear?”

Working with Hyde were team members Provost Studio, Chicago Scenic Studios and Cortina Productions.
